ITEN 2nd Thursday @ Venture Café
Don’t Skip Important Steps in your Early Startup Journey!

Enthusiasm for an idea can often cause startup founders to speed through critical early steps, or skip them entirely, leaving them struggling to ever reach product/market fit. ITEN’s new Eureka Experience is designed to keep that from happening. Powered by the Leanstack platform, The Eureka Experience introduces founders–through its Ideation and Validation program–to mindsets, tools, and processes that can set them on a strong path for early traction.

Explore why developing lean practices early-on can be game changing and hear from current Eureka Ideation participants on how they are already applying key learnings. There will also be a preview of Eureka Validation, the 12-week program that moves startups from problem/solution fit to strong customer traction.  Applications will open next month, with the inaugural cohort to launch in January!

Female Funders: Women Investing in Women
Women are underrepresented in tech companies and careers. That problem has roots in the lack of diversity in venture capital leadership and portfolios.

Women make up less than 10% of senior executives at VC firms. In 2019, only about 2.8% of all-female founding teams received funding across the entire U.S. startup ecosystem. The lack of female representation in leadership positions at top companies and firms is a growing problem. Because venture capital is seeding the high growth companies of tomorrow, having a lack of diversity across the funding landscape perpetuates the same results in the market. In order to create change (not to mention to unlock economic opportunities), women have to support other women to break this cycle. Join General Assembly and our female leaders to discuss:

  • The benefits of having a diverse and inclusive set of decision makers
  • How to recognize and acknowledge unconscious bias
  • Mentorship and other ways women can champion other women
  • How to build a strong network
  • Guidance for female entrepreneurs on pitching tVCs and raising capital
